Teacher – Middle School Experience – Summer Programming Part Time Temporary

Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated and dynamic educators to provide high-quality instruction for students transitioning to middle school. As a Summer Teacher, you will create a safe, intellectually engaging environment that fosters learning, growth, and collaboration among students, families, and staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and implement lessons aligned with district curriculum and Common Core State Standards
• Utilize research-based teaching strategies to engage diverse learners
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that motivates students
• Assess student progress and communicate effectively with students and families
• Collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents to support student success
• Maintain accurate records and assist with student discipline policies as needed
• Participate in curriculum and professional development committees as requested
• Perform additional duties assigned by the principal or administration

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related subject from a regionally accredited university
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with any teaching, School Counselor, Librarian, or School Social Worker endorsement (required)
• Experience in teaching preferred but not required
• Familiarity with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Standards and instructional technology

Schedule & Compensation

• Professional Development: July 28, 2025 | 7:45 AM – 12:15 PM
• Student Program Dates: July 29 & 30, 2025 | 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Staff Work Hours: 7:45 AM – 12:15 PM (Includes prep & wrap-up)
• Compensation: $44.85 per hour (with TRS)
• Additional hours may be required for a student/parent orientation session on July 29 or 30, 2025
• This is a temporary position with salary and benefits established by the Board of Education.
