Summer Teaching Assistant Temporary

Summer Advantage USA is a non-profit organization that runs high-quality summer learning programs for children in grades K-8. Our research-based program focuses on academics & enrichment and aims to provide children access to a well-rounded summer program that helps them succeed in school, stimulates their dreams for the future, and helps them develop as leaders in their communities.

The opportunity: The Teacher Assistant supports the lead teachers in providing academic, enrichment, and social-emotional lessons; as well as leads scholar development, guidance, and discipline.

Successful applicants are those seeking to enhance their ability in the classroom and have experience in small-group instruction and mentorship.

The Details

Key Deliverables:

• Ability to work the entirety of the program (including attending training prior to program start)
• Support daily lesson delivery in both morning academics and afternoon enrichment.
• Manage the class in the absence of a teacher and/or during lunch and recess activities.
• Foster positive relationships and serve as a mentor to the students in their assigned class.

Experience and Education Requirements:

• 1+ years experience working in a school, community-based youth program, or academic tutoring program preferred
• Experience working in platforms such as Google and Microsoft Office Suites preferred
• Experience working with children is a plus
