Summer STEAM Institute Teacher Temporary

We are seeking dynamic and enthusiastic STEAM educators to join our team for a weeklong Summer STEAM Academy. This exciting role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about inspiring young minds and fostering a love for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through innovative project-based learning.

Three Teachers per Cluster: One Each Grade 3-4, One Each Grade 5-6, One Each Grade 7-8.
Each Class limited to 30

One Teacher Each: North Cluster: Architecture Through Lego; Summer Culinary Experience.
Each Class is limited to 30.

Location: North Cluster (SMS), Central Cluster (ACES), Southern Cluster (HMS/HHS)

Dates: Thursday, June 10-June 14th, 2023, with required Prep Meetings Thursday, June 6th and Friday, June 7th.

Times: 8 am. – 3 pm.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Technology. Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in teaching STEAM subjects at the appropriate level.
• Strong familiarity with the NGSS/Required Standards and experience in implementing project-based learning strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Demonstrated creativity and problem-solving skills in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Deliver engaging, hands-on STEAM lessons based on the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). All lessons & Material Provided.
• Guide students through the Launch Cycle to help them innovate and create three distinct projects.
• Utilize the Learning by Design approach to maximize student engagement and learning outcomes.
• Prepare for and actively participate in two days of comprehensive training prior to the academy.
• Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to ensure a safe and stimulating learning environment.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.

Compensation: District Summer School Pay Scale/ $40 per hour
