Summer Camp Counselor (Little School Preschool) Temporary

This position involves organizing and supervising children (ages 3-5) in a summer day camp setting. Activities may include arts and crafts, music and dance, sports and games, special events, visits from performers, and more. Cleaning and sanitizing duties are also required.

Staff must be available to work for all six weeks of the camp, with counselors working 30 hours per week. Camp dates are from June 23 to August 1.

Examples Of Duties

• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that engage and entertain preschool-aged children.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment, promoting teamwork, cooperation, and respect.
• Assist with setting up and cleaning up daily activities and ensure the camp space remains clean and organized.
• Actively participate in special camp events, including visits from local community members like firefighters and police officers.
• Collaborate with fellow counselors and staff to ensure an enjoyable and positive camp experience for all children.
• Provide regular updates to parents about camp activities and their children’s participation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and have graduated from high school or equivalent.
• Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and the public.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to create a nurturing, positive environment for young children.

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

Previous experience in recreation programs, summer camps, or childcare is preferred.

All candidates must pass a background check.

Special Certifications and Licenses:

Tuberculosis (TB) screening is required for employment.

Supplemental Information:

Mandatory training will take place from June 16th to June 20th.

Hourly Salary rate: $16.50
