Summer Camp Coordinator Full Time Temporary

Harford Community College (HCC) is seeking an enthusiastic and organized Camp Coordinator to oversee our Summer Youth Camps. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children, ensuring a safe and engaging camp experience, and supporting camp staff.

Position Details:

• Camp Season: June 23, 2025 – August 15, 2025 (No camp on July 4th)
• Training & Prep:
  • Employee training during the week of June 9, 2025
  • Camp preparation from June 16 – 20, 2025
• Work Schedule:
  • Approx. 40 hours per week
  • Camp operating hours: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM, Monday – Friday
  • Coordinators will work 7-8 hour shifts with a 30-minute lunch break
• Starting Salary: $20 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily camp operations and enforce safety procedures
• Support camp staff with medical and behavioral concerns of campers
• Maintain clear communication with parents/guardians, staff, and campers
• Collect and manage camper enrollment documentation, attendance records, and other paperwork
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Certification with experience may be considered)
• Required Experience: At least one year of experience in teaching, childcare, camp leadership, or coaching
• Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to pass FBI, MD, and CJIS background screening
  • First Aid and CPR/AED certification (HCC offers two free certification classes for summer employees)
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of summer camp experience
  • Full availability from June 23 – August 15, 2025 (Any conflicts must be disclosed at the time of hire for approval)

Employees must reside in Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or Washington, D.C.
