Math Masters Summer Program Director/Lead Teacher Temporary

Northeastern University’s Speech-Language and Hearing Center is seeking two experienced educators for the Math Masters Summer Program, a specialized mathematics program designed to provide explicit, systematic instruction to students struggling with foundational math skills.

We are currently hiring for the following positions:

On-Site Director/Lead Teacher
Lead Teacher

Both roles involve leading engaging and evidence-based instruction while utilizing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles to support student learning.

Program Details:

• Schedule: Monday – Thursday afternoons, July 7 – July 31, 2025
• Daily Hours for Lead Teacher: 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM (includes preparation & student transportation time)
• Core Program Hours: 1:00 PM – 4:30 PM

Daily Program Structure:

1:00 – 1:30 PM Opening Meeting & Ticket-In
1:30 – 2:10 PM First Instructional Session
2:10 – 2:30 PM Application Activity
2:30 – 3:00 PM Snack & Outdoor Break
3:00 – 3:30 PM Second Instructional Session
3:30 – 3:50 PM Application Activity
4:00 – 4:30 PM Ticket-Out & Closing Meeting

Role & Responsibilities:

On-Site Director/Lead Teacher

• Oversee daily operations and collaborate with Northeastern faculty members.
• Maintain attendance records, lead daily activities, and communicate with parents.
• Supervise and support graduate instructors.
• Aggregate graphed data and participate in weekly data management meetings.

Lead Teacher

• Lead whole-group instruction and supervise small-group instruction.
• Model and support graduate instructors in evidence-based instructional methods.
• Organize and facilitate fluency-based instruction, Direct Instruction (Corrective Math & Solving Math Word Problems curricula), and application activities.

Training & Professional Development:

• Training sessions scheduled throughout June, including independent coursework.
• Topics include Direct Instruction, fluency-based instruction, data collection, general behavior management strategies, and Responsive Classroom procedures.
• Supervised Behavior Analytic Fieldwork Hours available for interested candidates.

Qualifications:

• Current Massachusetts Teacher Certification
• 3-5 years of elementary teaching experience
• ABA experience preferred, but not required
