Summer School Enrichment Teacher Part Time Temporary

Under the supervision of the summer school principal, the Enrichment Teacher will facilitate student success and personal growth through engaging enrichment courses. The selected teacher will instruct four sections of 5th-grade students in a 90-minute class each day.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and submit a proposal outlining learning objectives, activities, required materials, and assessment methods.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment that supports individual and small-group instruction.
  • Design and implement lesson plans that maximize instructional time and provide high-quality learning experiences.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and ensure student behavior aligns with school and district policies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and participate in faculty meetings.
  • Foster a positive learning environment where students feel respected and valued.
  • Utilize various instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  • Assess student progress and modify instruction accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.

Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by the principal(s).

Travel Requirements: Travel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of current teaching methods, educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction.
  • Familiarity with elementary school curriculum and concepts.
  • Ability to integrate learning software applications as needed.
  • Strong communication skills with students and parents/guardians.
  • Ability to self-evaluate for professional growth.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and staff.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Elementary Education B-5 certification.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

Employment Details:

  • Location: Drummond Elementary School
  • Tentative Summer School Schedule:
    • Staff Report Day: June 6, 2025
    • Week 1: June 9-13, 2025
    • Week 2: June 16-20, 2025 (No school on June 19 for Juneteenth)
    • Week 3: June 23-27, 2025
  • FLSA Status: Exempt
  • Compensation: Based on the district summer school pay scale.

Note: Positions are based on student enrollment needs. If insufficient students enroll in a course, the course may be canceled. Teachers may be assigned to teach some but not all summer school weeks.

Disclaimer: Summer school dates may change depending on snow days used during the regular school year.

  3. List of MO Learning Standards addressed in the course (must include Math or ELA standards along with any other applicable standards)
